ASSISTANT MINISTER

 

On Sunday 26th May we said our farewell to Jonny, Jane, Joshua and Jacob Boyd. On Friday 7th June Jonny was ordained and installed as minister in Hyde Park and Lylehill. We continue to pray for Jonny and his family as they settle into their new home and church family.

 

In April of this year we received word from the Board of Studies that we would not be having a new student placed with us following on from Jonny’s placement. Unusually the Board had only 9 students to place (compared to the normal 18+ in recent years). We were encouraged to apply again next year and to apply for a summer assistant.

 

From 10th June to August 31st Brent van de Linde will serve as a summer assistant. Brent will be preaching on July 25th, August 4th and August 25th. He will also assist Albin in other areas of ministry during his 10 week placement.

 

A note from Brent:

I have one wife and three children. Louise and I have been married for 11 years, our children are Amy, Sarah and Zoe. Cape Town, South Africa is where I grew up and cultivated a love for the outdoors, jelly tots and sport. Before I became a minister I worked for Mediation Northern Ireland as a mediator and project manager. Previous to that I was one of the directors of Scripture Union South Africa. I love spending time with my family, cycling my single speed and climbing.
